Common troubleshooting

Prayer times look wrong by a few minutes

Open Settings in Wird and confirm (a) your current city, (b) the calculation method, (c) your madhab, and (d) the high-latitude rule. Wird picks regional defaults automatically, but some cities have local overrides (e.g. Umm al-Qura in the Gulf). If you change madhab or method, Asr/Fajr/Isha will shift by a few minutes — this is expected.

Notifications aren't arriving

Go to iOS Settings → Notifications → Wird and make sure notifications are allowed. Open Wird once a week — each open refreshes the scheduled notifications for the following 7 days. iOS caps pending notifications at 64 per app; Wird fits comfortably inside that budget.

The qibla needle drifts

Magnetic compasses drift near metal objects, magnets, and speakers. Move to a clear space and rotate your phone in a figure-eight to re-calibrate. Wird will show a calibration hint when the reported accuracy drops.

iCloud sync isn't working

Go to iOS Settings → Apple ID → iCloud and confirm CloudKit is enabled, then open Wird. Wird syncs in the background when iCloud is available; if you're on a restricted network (workplace VPN, some hotels) CloudKit may be blocked.

Dynamic Island or Live Activity isn't showing

Dynamic Island requires iPhone 14 Pro or later. For other iPhones the Live Activity appears on the Lock Screen. The activity starts automatically when the adhan notification fires and ends 15 minutes later.

How do I change the language?

iOS 16 and later expose a per-app language picker. Go to iOS Settings → Wird → Language. Wird ships in 12 launch locales.
